The ‘Direct to Store’ (DTS) that Intechnica worked on in partnership with Nisa has won the Retail Systems Award for ‘Online Innovation of The Year’.
The ‘Direct to Store’ was successfully launched at Nisa’s retail exhibition in April. It allows independent retailers to trade with hundreds of locally sourced UK suppliers, search and compare product catalogues and order stock from multiple suppliers at the same time via one centralised online portal.
Peter Walker, Head of Business Systems at Nisa, said: “We are absolutely delighted to win the award and to receive recognition for the work that went into developing this system. Ultimately it streamlines processes for our retail partners and provides a better service to them, vastly reducing administration at store level and saving time.”
The Retail Systems Awards 2018 awarded this years’ accolade to Nisa’s ‘Direct to Store’ on 27 June, just a couple of months after it was released, in the historic Waldorf Hilton in London.
Nisa and Intechnica beat fierce competition from John Lewis Partnership and ThoughtWorks, New Look and Criteo, Travis Perkins and Increasingly AI and more to lift the award for Online Innovation of the Year.
The ‘Direct to Store’ system simplified operations including invoicing, order processing and administration for Nisa members and as such has seen an increased uptake since the launch.
The Direct to Store Business Manager, Adrian Page, explained: “In addition to the range Nisa distributes centrally, independent retailers typically trade with hundreds of smaller and locally sourced suppliers. As the retailer must manually order and maintain product and price information directly with these suppliers, it requires a great deal of administration.
“Direct to Store removes this complication by providing a portal where all suppliers can list their product ranges, and an order portal for retailers to place orders quickly and efficiently. All product data is also available for retailers to download – simplifying the maintenance of product and price information.”
